INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE 2012 COMMENCEMENT
REHEARSAL, AWARDS CEREMONY AND PURCHASE OF CAPS & GOWNS
DATE: Monday, March 5, 2012
COMMENCEMENT: Will be on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center. The ceremony will be followed by a reception on Campus for the graduates, family, and friends.
AWARDS CEREMONY: Will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the M-Building Gymnasium. (NOTE: THIS IS A NEW DATE AND TIME)
REHEARSAL: Will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the M-Building Gymnasium. (NOTE: THIS IS A NEW DATE AND TIME)
TICKETS: Due to change in location, seating is limited. Students that ordered a cap and gown will be given a specific amount of tickets for family/friends to attend the ceremony.
CAPS & GOWNS:
Caps and gowns will be ordered ON-LINE ONLY!!!
- Orders placed by 11:59PM on April 02, 2012 will be shipped directly to the campus where you will be notified when to pick-up. There will be no shipping fees on orders received by April 2.
- Orders placed after April 3 will be shipped directly to the address the student provided and the student will be responsible for all costs associated with shipping/handling and tax.
- The site will close on April 10. Students will not be able to order after this date. We will NOT be selling caps and gowns on Rehearsal Day or on Commencement.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING CAPS & GOWNS ONLINE:
- Log on to www.herffjones.com/college/graduation
- Select LIU – A&M Schwartz College of Pharmacy. Click CONTINUE
- Verify that this page is your College that the correct date of commencement is May 11, 2012. Click CONTINUE
- Select ORDER YOUR CAP AND GOWN
- Select your degree level (Doctorate/Master) click CONTINUE
- ORDER YOUR CAP AND GOWN continued:
Under PRODUCT INFORMATION select Cap, Gown, Tassel/Hood
Souvenir Tassel is optional. Click CONTINUE.
- STUDENT ORDER INFORMATION:
Complete ORDERED BY section. In the address/phone fields, enter your own address, phone number, and email address
Under DEGREE INFORMATION enter your name
Under CAP & GOWN INFORMATION complete this section (recipients for Doctorate degree please choose your correct Area of Study (Doctor of Pharmacy = PharmD; PhD = Doctor of Philosophy). Click CONTINUE
Review all information you’ve submitted. Please review your order carefully. Under PAYMENT enter your credit card information and click SUBMIT.
ORDERS CANNOT BE CHANGED ONCE SUBMITTED.
CAP & GOWN PICK-UP: Caps and gowns are to be picked-up on May 10, 2012. The times and location for pickup will be announced at the commencement rehearsal.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING RINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS ONLINE:
To order your RINGS and ANNOUNCEMENTS please follow steps 1 – 4 but at step 4 select ORDER YOUR COLLEGE RING and/or ORDER YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT and continue your ordering.
COMMENCEMENT DAY LINE-UP:
You must be ready to line up for the academic procession no later than 12:15 PM.
PHARM.D. line up in the Lobby of the Health Sciences Building.
Master line up in the lobby of the Wet lab Building.
RECEPTION: Will be held on campus following Commencement. This reception is in your honor, and your guests are cordially invited to attend.
PHOTOGRAPHS: There will be ample opportunity to take photographs with relatives and friends both before and after Commencement. We ask that the taking of photos not interfere with the academic procession.
A professional photographer from a studio company will take a photo of each graduate receiving his/her diploma. The company will contact you directly to see if you wish to purchase the photo. There is no obligation on your part to purchase.
STREET PARKING: Extremely limited and public transportation is recommended.
ALUMNI PARENTS and SIBLINGS: If your parent, grandparent, or sibling is a graduate of the College, we invite him/her to march with you in cap and gown in the academic procession. If this applies to you please contact Dean Schumacher immediately at 718-488-1004.
