Much like, Who Owns Whom, this directory provides information about parent companies and their subsidiaries. However, this "Master Index" is broader in scope and it covers domestic as well as international corporations and is arranged in five volumes. The master index provides an index to company names and brand names as well as a corporate responsibilities index.

This is a classic directory of corporate information. Volume 1 provides contact information, primary bank, accounting firm, and law firm for over 55,000 corporations. Volume 2 is an alphabetical listing of the approximately 70,000 directors and executives involved in these companies. Place of birth, colleges attended, business and fraternal affiliations are provided. Volume 3 contains indexes to the first two volumes as well as a list of new companies, new executives, and names of recently deceased executives.
