1. How do
I get a barcode?
You will need to be a currently enrolled student who has paid all
tuition and fees to get a barcode. Keep in mind that the barcode
expires one year from the date you receive it. In order to get a
barcode, you will need to bring an updated student ID card to the
Library's Circulation Department, located on the 5th floor of the
Library Learning Center (LLC), 718-488-1338. For more information
about barcodes, go to the Circulation
Services web page.
2. Help!
My barcode expired.
To renew your barcode, please bring your student ID card along with
proof of your permanent address to the Circulation Department (5th
floor of the library) or call the Circulation Department at 718-488-1338.
3.
How do I start my research?
In most
cases, you can begin with a good electronic encyclopedia or dictionary.
Try the Gale Virtual Reference Library. To access GVRL, go to Online
Databases link on the home
page, look to the alphabet at the top of the page, Select G
and find Gale Virtual Reference Library on the list.
4. I want
to talk to a librarian.
Stop by the Reference Desk, located on the 3rd floor of the Library
Learning Center (LLC), or call 718-780-4513.
5. What are
the library hours?
During the
fall and spring semesters, the Brooklyn Campus Library is open from
9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday; from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday;
from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Call the Reference Desk at 718-780-4513
for summer, intercession or holiday hours.
6. What
library resources are available to alumni?
Alumni can check out books using their alumni card, but they do
not have access to the library's electronic journals. You can get
alumni ID cards from the Alumni Services Office. For additional
