LIUCAT, the library's online catalog, numerous periodical databases, and other informational databases are available over the Internet.

These Web-based databases are only available at LIU campus computers with Internet access. They may not be searched from your home computer. LIUCAT is also available in the library on a non-networked network. For more information regarding the library's electronic resources, a reference librarian is available during library hours at (718) 780 - 4513.

The online catalog for all LIU campuses. Includes Brooklyn campus books dating back to 1980. For earlier editions, one must consult the card catalog in the library. Search for books by keyword, Library of Congress subject heading, title, or author. LIUCAT searching is available in the library.

Full-text articles from magazines, journals, newspapers, and other sources devoted to women's issues throughout the disciplines. Coverage dates back to the 1970s.

GPO (Government Printing Office)
Corresponds to the Monthly Catalog of United States Government Publications which indexes 50% of government documents. Includes topics such as finance, business, demographics, agriculture, medicine, and public health.

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
This wide-ranging database of news, legal, and business information includes full-text articles and information from magazines, newspapers, journals, directories, and financial reports. Access company profiles, medical and health topics, state and country profiles, state and federal case law, and much more.

National Newspaper Index
Citations and abstracts to articles from national newspapers in the United States. Coverage goes back to 1995.
