Extension Sites
Mission
Statement
Mission,
Goals and Objectives of Extension Site Library Services
Mission
Long Island
University Brooklyn Campus’s Extension Sites needs and deserves
quality library services. The Brooklyn Campus Library is the “parent”
library for the Bedford-Stuyesant and Bushwick-Ridgewood extension
sites. Our mission is to provide access to print and electronic
information sources to faculty and students at those locations.
Goals
Our
primary goal is to provide the best service possible to our students.
To accomplish this, we plan to communicate on a regular basis with
the personnel responsible for each extension site, as well as to
visit each location periodically.
Objectives
· To
work with responsible personnel to insure that every student attends
a Library Instruction session.
· To
be proactive and "virtually” present through email, reference
chat, web pages and Interlibrary Loan forms.
·
To provide each and every student with library barcodes
(to request Interlibrary Loan materials or access off-campus
databases).
·
To work with all extension sites to help us improve
our user friendly approach (virtually and physically) and streamline
our online “Material Requests” forms.
