Database-related Announcements:
1) No more patron barcodes for LIU students and employees for remote access and other library-related functions. For more information, please read LIU's New ID Card and the Library.
Please use Firefox due to possible browser compatibility issues.
3) Reported problems with Ebscohost and Proquest databases and Safari and Internet Explorer browsers. Search terms not recognized. Ebscohost and Proquest databases function properly if you use the Firefox browser which is available for both MACs and PCs. Firefox can be downloaded at www.getfirefox.com. We are working to resolve these issues.

Online Databases:

     Use electronic indexes to search for journals, magazines, newspapers, and reference books.
     Journal indexes are used to locate articles in journals and newspapers.
     Articles may be searched by author, title, or subject. They are available in print and electronic form.
     Indexes in electronic form are referred to as databases.

     All Online Databases are available from anywhere On Campus.
     Most of these databases are also available Off Campus (with a valid library barcode).
     indicates Databases only available On Campus.
     indicates Databases only available in the Library.

Remote Access :  
     A valid library barcode is needed to access the library's databases off campus. After the "Remote Access Login Screen" appears, type in your library barcode found on the back of your ID card. Click the "LOGIN" button. Please note: only currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff may access the databases from off campus.
     Problems? Call: Circulation at (718) 488-1338 if you're having problems using your barcode, or, Reference at (718) 780-4513 if you're having problems using the databases.
