About the Brooklyn Campus Library

Long Island University boasts a 2.6 million volume library system as well as extensive state-of-the-art academic and administrative computing facilities.

The Brooklyn Campus Library is located on the third, fourth, and fifth floors of the Salena Library Learning Center (LLC) building, and houses 265,000 volumes, 1,100 journal titles, 344,000 units of microforms, over 8,700 videos, and other media such as audiocassettes, compact disks and computer software on diskette. The collection also contains more than 50,000 e-books and hundreds of e-encyclopedia and e-reference titles.

The staff regularly selects and maintains information resources (books, periodicals, technology, media) which support the Brooklyn Campus curriculum.

Information professionals are available to assist students and faculty in planning research strategies, critically evaluating information, and retrieving information effectively.

Patrons are encouraged to ask for assistance while visiting the library. If the library does not own a journal or book that you are seeking, you may make recommendations to suggest that the library subscribe to the journal or purchase the book.
