Remote Sites: Global College

Mission Statement
Mission, Goals and Objectives of Library Services to Global College Faculty and Students

Mission

Long Island University Brooklyn Campus’s Global College needs and deserves quality library services. The Brooklyn Campus Library is the “parent” library for the Global College sites around the world. Our mission is to provide access to resources and services to faculty and students at those locations.

 Goals

Our primary goal is to provide the best service possible to our students and faculty. To accomplish this, we plan to communicate on a regular basis with the personnel responsible for the Global College.

 Objectives

·      To be proactive and "virtually” present through email, reference chat, Electroic Reserves, web pages, online tutorials, and library instruction.

·      To provide each and every student with library barcodes (to request InterLibrary Loan materials or access off-campus  databases).

·      To deliver print and electronic journal articles to sites around the world via our InterLibrary Loan service and the Global College main office.

·      To work with Global College users to help us improve our user-friendly approach (virtually and physically) and streamline our services.
