- The Journalism Departments seeks maximum scholarship and financial support for its majors in addition to federal and state aid and university-wide grants. Editors of the campus newspaper receive up to 75% tuition remission. Journalism Scholars Awards pay a portion of tuition up to $5,000 and Journalism Service Awards up to $2,500 annually. Student Activity Grants provide tuition remission for approximately two classes per semester.
LIU Brooklyn Journalism majors have also successfully applied for major scholarships sponsored by organizations such as the American Society of Magazine Editors, the Freedom Forum—NCAA Foundation Sports Scholarship, the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund and the National Association of Black Journalists, among others.
