2005 Honors Orientation Trip

We Want You…
For a weekend of Fun, Adventure, and New Friendships!

Join the Honors Program advisors, faculty, mentors, and students (new and old) for our annual weekend retreat at Frost Valley YMCA camp from September 9 th through September 11th (rain or shine).

Some activities you can look forward to are hiking, boating, swimming, archery, volleyball, and even bread baking! You need to bring the following: a sleeping bag; a pillow; extra sneakers or hiking boots; extra socks; light clothes (if it is warm); two items of heavier clothes (if it is cool); flashlight and two towels. Don't bring: perfume/cologne; blow dryer; high heels or dressy clothes. Remember, this is a weekend at camp. That means bunk beds, camp fires, and toasted marshmallows!

The trip is partially covered by university alumni, however we ask that you contribute $30 for the weekend to help cover costs. All food and transportation is covered. You will not need any money once we arrive at camp. If you plan to join us, please fill out and return the form enclosed with a check or money order by August 26th. Please make your checks payable to University Honors Program.

Here are the details: as classes will already be in session, plan to meet in the Honors Lounge, Pratt 310, right after the Freshman Sequence at 1:00 pm . (You may leave your stuff in the Lounge before classes.) From 1:00 to 1:30 you will pack a lunch (provided by us), load up the bus, and we'll be on our way by 2:00. We will return to campus Sunday afternoon, usually by 2:00.

So please join us for what promises to be a great trip (they always are)! This is your chance to meet other new Honors students, relax in the country, and just have a blast.
