James P. Clarke

Dr. Clarke teaches philosophy in the Honors Program and advises Honors students. His bachelor's degree is from Sonoma State University in California, and his master's and doctorate are from Stony Brook University in New York. He has written on the work of Hannah Arendt, and his interests include political theory, contemporary French and German philosophy, and the Enlightenment. Dr. Clarke is the advisor to Alpha Chi as well as the Student Activities Board. He coaches students competing for inclusion in conferences including the National Conferences on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) and the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) annual conference.


Cris Gleicher

Cris Gleicher received both her bachelor’s degree in History and her master’s in American History from Adelphi University in New York. She is the campus representative for the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship as well as the Center for the Study of the Presidency. Cris advises Honors students and serves as advisor for Alpha Lambda Delta. She teaches the Honors Freshman Orientation Seminar and the professional development course (OS 2). As a volunteer with the Central Park Conservancy, Cris regularly gives tours on the history and design of Central Park.

Susanna Yurick
Assistant Director Honors and Director of Bridge Programs
Susanna Yurick directs the Honors Mentor Program and has taught advanced courses in the program. Her areas of specializations are the history of American culture, gender, and sexuality. She obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
