Welcome to the Performing Arts Department, Dance Programs!

I am delighted that you have decided to investigate the LIU Brooklyn Dance Department. Located just ten minutes from downtown Manhattan, we currently offer two degrees in Dance - the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Fine Arts - taught by the finest dance professionals in New York City. Detailed information about the programs are available here; however, if you cannot find answers to a specific question or want to learn more, do not hesitate to contact the Dance Programs Administrator Mary Ann Wall at (718) 488-3355 or by email at maryann.wall@liu.edu or myself at (718) 488-1051 or by email at dhash@liu.edu.

We look forward to the upcoming year and all it has to offer. Students this year have the opportunity to learn works by Twyla Tharp (restaged by Alexander Brady and Rika Okamoto), Maria Bauman, Majia Garcia, Erica Pujic, and our own Professor Cizmesija.  In the spring upperclassmen students will be working with Jennifer Muller of Jennifer Muller/ The Works!

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program in dance offers rigorous, conservatory-style training for those interested in pursuing careers as professional dancers in a liberal arts and science college setting. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in dance is designed to meet the artistic and academic needs of students interested in pursuing professional dance careers, as well as those who want to work in complementary fields as dance instructors, movement therapists, art administrators or other related disciplines. No matter your dance degree program the LIU Brooklyn Dance Programs is dedicated to cultivating disciplined, creative, intelligent artists. Are you up for the challenge?

Please enjoy searching our web site, and once again, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Looking forward to seeing you at one of our auditions!
    Sincerely,
