Re: Marshals for Commencement - Thursday, May 13, 2010
The Brooklyn Campus's 80th Commencement will convene on Thursday May 13, 2009. I am pleased to invite you to participate as a Marshal in this great event. We need as many of you as possible. Commencement exercises are conducted on the athletic field. The work of faculty and staff as Marshals is essential to the success of this day. Marshals seat guests, help those with special needs, distribute programs, help organize the procession, escort VIP's to the field, and seat graduates. From the perspective of those of us who plan this event, the faculty and staff marshals (who volunteer their services) are the backbone of the proceedings.
Marshals are requested to attend a Commencement information session. Information sessions for associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees, is on Wednesday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. on the field under the tent. Information Sessions for doctoral degrees is Wednesday, May 12 at 12:00 in Pratt 310.
Please consider contributing to the Commencement effort. It really is a beautiful day for all of us. Volunteer your services by filling in your name, title, department and extension below.
Then, please forward this memo, by Monday, March 15th, to Cris Gleicher, Co-Director of the University Honors Program, Pratt Bldg. Room 310. Thank you. I look forward to working with all of you in May.
