Donald Jones B68 acting president
Don has been an L.I.U. Alumni Board member since 1998. He
holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University, and is a CPA
licensed to practice in the state of New York. Following his
tour of duty as a Naval Officer in the U.S. Naval Force inn
1972, and upon receiving his MBA from the University of Chicago,
Don spent several years on controllers staffs of the Brunswick
Corporation and G.D. Searle & Co (now a subsidiary of
Pharmacia Corporation). Don went on to hold management positions
at both Bank Leumi and TIAA-CREF, a leading retirement services
insurance company.
Currently, Don provides client services as a CPA in the fields
of information technology, financial planning and taxation.
He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the N.Y.
State Society of CPAs and the University of Chicagos
African-American MBA Association.
Debbie Barrett B94, B00
Debbie received both her Master of Public Administration and
her Masters of Science in Nursing from the Brooklyn Campus.
She is the youngest director of nursing services in one of
largest nursing homes in the Tri-State area. She is responsible
for ensuring and coordinating the quality care effectively
that is being delivered on a 24-hour basis. Debbie mentors
registered nurses and nurse practitioners at several local
colleges and universities, and has assisted in the coordination
of health screenings and health promotion for the Staten Island
community. She is a member of Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority and
was the 2002-2003 editor of the national publication "Acorn".
Arnold Bier B65
Arnie is the senior vice president and coo of Pacific Northern
in Carrollton, TX, where he has complete authority and control
of managing the account/finance department. Prior to joining
Pacific Northern, Arnie was corporate group controller for
Arrow Industries. He is also the owner of Arnold Bier Bookkeeping
& Income Tax Service. Arnie received his B.S. in Accounting
from the Brooklyn Campus and currently lives in Richardson,
TX with his wife Marge and their three grown children. He
is also the proud grandfather of Brooklynn.
Jono Hardjowirogo B70
Prijono received his B.A. in Philosophy, with a minor in Mathematics
from Brooklyn, and is currently the publisher of books and
journals for ACM The Association for Computing Machinery,
which is the oldest computer association in the world. Jono,
as he is called, previously worked as senior editor for Bantam
Books, editorial director for both Simon and Shuster and Henry
Holt, and publishing director for Berlitz International. He
is an active member of the Association for American Publishers
as chairman of the Journals Committee, and runs AAP/PSP Journals
Boot Camp the most prestigious venue for journal editors
in the industry.
